Hutchison 3G Signs First UK MVNO Contract
Hutchison 3G UK says that it has signed its first ever mvno wholesale contract - with telecoms distributor Gamma Telecom. Under the deal Gamma Telecom will offer an own-branded business mobile voice and data service using the 3 network. The service will be targeted at small to medium-sized businesses (SME) and will be taken to market via Gamma's channel of more than 300 independent resellers. more

BRUSSELS -(Dow Jones)- Belgian mobile operator Mobistar said Friday that its total earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization or Ebitda for the first half of 2007 ended June 30 dropped 2.2% to EUR302 million from EUR308.9 million the same period the year before. more

Tele2 has announced that it will acquire 49% of the shares in Spring Mobil with an option to acquire the remaining shares in the first quarter of 2009. Spring Mobil is the telecom operator with the fourth Swedish GSM license. Spring focuses on the growing, fixed-to-mobile market for enterprises. The closing of the agreement is dependent on the approval by Konkurrensverket (the Swedish competition authorities). more
