New MVNO for New Zealand

New Zealand telco, Digital Island says that it has signed a mvno deal with Telecom New Zealand to add mobile phone services to its portfolio. The firm will carry out a two month pilot with existing customers beginning in April, followed by a full commercial service from July.  more

IMImobile takes over Music2You service from Nokia Siemens Networks

Mobile services provider, IMImobile announced last month that it had taken control of the Music2You (M2Y) service previously provided by Nokia Siemens Networks. Under the M2Y brand, Nokia Siemens Networks provided full-track music download and subscription services to telecom operators and media companies, Vodafone in India, AOL in Germany and Akado in Russia.  more

Thai Operator to Push Ahead with 3G Network Rollout

Thailand's state owned operator, TOT has told the Reuters news agency that it will proceed with plans to deploy a 3G network, with a commercial launch due by the end of the year. The government has previously hinted that it will sell 3G auctions in the first half of this year.  more

Nokia to Stop Selling Mobile Phones in Japan
