Peru's Mobile Telephony to Surpass US$2.7 Billion in Revenues by 2013

Peru's Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversiƒ³n) plans to auction off 821 - 824 MHz and 866 - 869 MHZ radio-electric spectrum for Lima and Callao along with 25 MHz on C-band (1.900 MHz) nationwide. Dotcom receives virtual mobile operator license

Dotcom is now authorized to rent capacity from mobile operators and resell the minutes under its own brand name. The license was issued despite objections from the country's three mobile companies: Entel PCS, Claro Chile, of Mexico's America Movil, and Movistar Chile, of Spain's Telefonica. more
