Russia's MTS Launches a CDMA Network in India
Russian backed Indian mobile network operator, Sistema Shyam Teleservices (SSTL) has launched its CDMA network Tamil Nadu, Chennai and Pondicherry, under the mts brand. Alcatel-Lucent Deploys 3G Network in Reunion

Russian Military to Permit 3G Services in Moscow
Russia's Defense Ministry has agreed to allow 3G frequencies to be used in the Moscow region - finally permitting the launch of 3G services by the end of this year. The Ministry had blocked the launch of 3G services as it used some of the frequencies for its own missile warning system. more
