Ukrainian Operators Boost Indoor Coverage
Indoor coverage infrastructure vendor, MobileAccess say that two of Ukraine's mobile network operators, Kyivstar and mts have adopted its kit to boost coverage reliability. The MobileAccess solution has already been deployed in a number of properties in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev. These deployments include the five-star Hyatt Regency Kiev, a hotel and conference centre, as well as the city's tallest building, the Parus Business Centre. more

Increasing Deployment of UMT at 900Mhz
The pace of commercialisation of Umts 900 systems has quickened, according to a new Information Paper published by GSA, the Global mobile Suppliers Association. The report notes that for the same service offering and coverage, the number of base station sites in the 900 MHz band can be reduced by 60% compared to that needed for 2100 MHz, and reduce rollout time. more

Ubiquisys First to Support Impending 3G Femtocell Standard
Ubiquisys says that it became the first femtocell vendor to announce its commitment to the 3GPP's emerging Iuh interface, providing standardised communications between femtocells and the gateways in mobile operators' networks.
