Firefox Browser Launched for Nokia N900 Devices

­After a series of preview releases, the mozilla Foundation has released a formal version of its mobile web browser for Nokia's Maemo platform. In a statement, the group said that "key design principles are at the heart of the mobile browsing experience including minimal typing, seamless synchronization with desktop Firefox and the ability to take your Firefox with you, to name a few."  more

Firefox Mobile Browser Developers Joins Mobile Linux Group

The mobile Linux OS trade group, LiMo Foundation has announced the addition of Infineon Technologies, Kvaleberg, mozilla (the group behind the Firefox web browser), Red Bend Software, Sagem Mobiles, SFR, SK Telecom and Verizon Wireless as new member companies. Expanding LiMo's membership to 40 since the foundation's launch in January 2007, these companies join with existing LiMo members to collaborate on the LiMo Platform - a Linux-based software platform for mobile devices.  more

Windows Mobile Smartphones to get Firefox Mobile Web Browser

mozilla, the open-source group behind the Firefox web browser expects to launch a mobile version of its web browser initially on Windows Mobile based smartphones. Writing on his blog, lead engineer Christian Sejersen, noted that they are not supporting Symbian - and asked for assistance in porting the mobile browser to that platform.  more

Firefox Considering Mobile Web Browser

The mozilla Foundation is reported to be considering developing a mobile phone version of their Firefox web browser. mozilla Foundation CEO, Mitchell Baker, in a interview with APC Magazine said that the not-for-profit organisation would look at developing a mobile client, but not for some time yet. more
