Russian WiMAX network operator, Yota says that it has signed up its 100,000th active subscriber. The network has added 60,000 subscribers since its commercial launch in June in the cities of moscow and Saint Petersburg. The company already had 40,000 pre-launch trial customers. more

Comstar to Launch Moscow WiMAX Network in May
Russia's Comstar has announced that the test phase of its mobile WiMAX network project has been completed, and the network will be fully launched from next week. A discounted tariff plan for internet access with the data transmission volume of 2 Gigabits will be offered for WiMAX test participants for a subscription fee of US$6 per month. more

Russia's Comstar has soft launched a wireless broadband network in moscow, which is based on standard 802.16e WiMAX technology.
