Phone Coverage Expanded to 100 Moscow Underground Train Stations

Russian mobile network, MegaFon says that it has completed expanding its network coverage to include 100 of the moscow underground railway network stations. Mobile communication is provided at central stations, all stations of the Ring line and a significant part of the radial one. According to development plans, all metro station will be covered by MegaFon by autumn 2009.  more

Terrorist Threat Closes Phone Networks

Mobile phone services on the moscow underground have been suspended following a warning of a possible terrorist attack from the country's security services. MTS, VimpelCom and Megafon conformed to the RIA Novosti news agency that the services had been suspended, but declined to explain why, although company representatives unofficially said the move is connected to a possible terrorist threat. more
