Over Quarter of Young Canadians Using Mobile Internet Services
Canadians are becoming captivated by "mobile surfing" - increasingly accessing the web from their cellphones and smartphones daily. Polling conducted by Ipsos-Reid on behalf of Rogers Wireless showed that 26 per cent of wirelessly connected Canadians aged 18-34 are accessing the web from their mobile devices everyday, and of that, 65 per cent are browsing from their mobiles multiple times a day. more

The report, Exposure 2 consists of independent qualitative and quantitative research, following a survey of more than 2,000 mobile media users from across all UK mobile networks. Nokia and T-Mobile have announced plans to promote together their respective offering for widgets, applications and other content to provide customers with access to a range of Internet services. The customer can browse and download widgets from both the T-Mobile widget gallery and Nokia's Ovi Store using T-Mobile's web'n'walk widget platform. The integrated marketplace will be available during the second half 2009 on mass market Nokia Series 40 platform based phones. more

In November 2008 ABI Research carried out a survey of more than 1000 adult consumers in the United States, aimed at identifying their attitudes to netbooks and Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs). While customer insight influences mobile operatorsÃ' growth and investment strategy, existing subscriber data simply do not give them enough information for analyzing customer behavior, according to new research. Nokia Shows Off 7 New Low-Cost Phones and Services
Nokia has shown off a range of affordable mobile phones and services which the company says are specifically desisgned for people in emerging markets. In addition to Nokia's lowest cost handset to date, as well as its first handset for emerging markets with an integrated digital music player, Nokia unveiled a range of mobile internet services aimed at rural customers. Estimated retail prices of the new devices range from €25 to €90, with several models expected to begin shipping in 2008. Nokia's suite of Internet services for emerging markets will be available beginning in 2009. more
