Over Quarter of Young Canadians Using Mobile Internet Services
Canadians are becoming captivated by "mobile surfing" - increasingly accessing the web from their cellphones and smartphones daily. Polling conducted by Ipsos-Reid on behalf of Rogers Wireless showed that 26 per cent of wirelessly connected Canadians aged 18-34 are accessing the web from their mobile devices everyday, and of that, 65 per cent are browsing from their mobiles multiple times a day. more

Vodafone Shows Off Latest "Google Phone"
Vodafone has shown off its first smartphone based on the Google backed Android operating system. The phone, being built by HTC (who also make T-Mobile's G1 handset) is exclusive to Vodafone in the UK, Spain, Germany and France (SFR) and available on a non-exclusive basis in Italy. more

Almost 40% of smart phones shipping in EMEA have GPS integrated
A new report Canalys finds that growth slowed in the smart phone market in EMEA in Q2, but total shipments of 12.6 million still made it the second biggest quarter ever in volume terms. Canalys estimates that smart phones represented 13% of all mobile phone shipments. more
