MMS is Finally Poised to be the New 'King' of Non-voice Services
At the end of 2009, IDC expects mobile multimedia services to make up 11% of total mobile services revenue in Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ), surpassing SMS revenue contribution for the first time. In 2008, almost at par, SMS contribution to revenue was 10.3%, whilst mobile multimedia services amounted to 10.1%. IDC predicts that SMS contribution will plateau at 10% for the next few years, while mobile multimedia services will continue to ride on growth trajectory. more

Tunisian Operator Upgrades GPRS Core Network
Tunisian mobile operator, Tunisiana has modernized its GPRS core network following an upgrade contract which was awarded to Nokia Siemens Networks. The company installed its Flexi ISN, which performs GPRS Gateway Service Node (GGSN) and data charging functionalities, and is fully integrated with the existing Nokia Siemens Networks charge@once prepaid solution to enable flexible charging of data services. more
