Alcatel Lucent Sued Over MPEG Patents
MPEG LA, the group which pools patents relating to video compression is suing Alcatel Lucent, claiming that the company breached its patent licensing agreements. According to the lawsuit, Alcatel agreed to share all its MPEG-2 patents, but it is claimed that the company transferred some of the patents to a separate holding trust company rather than make them available to MPEG LA. more
