Malaysia's Maxis Communications is reported to be planning a US$2 billion stock market flotation by the end of this year - just two years after the company was taken private by its current owner. Citing unnamed sources, the Reuters news agency said that Maxis has chosen Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse and CIMB to advise it on a listing in Kuala Lumpur. more
France Telecom Reported to be Seeking Indian Investment
France Telecom is reported to be in talks to take a stake in India's Aircel for between US$1.4-$2 billion. The French company is said to be in talks with Malaysia's Maxis, which owns 74% of the company to take the stake. In the meantime, Maxis shareholder, Saudi Telecom is looking to increase its holding in the firm from 25% to 35%. more

Aircel Announces $5 Billion Investment Plan
India's Aircel has announced plans to double its subscriber base and invest US$5 billion in its network over the next three to five years.
