The authorities in Burma (Myanmar) are reported to be planning to boost the CDMA network capacity by 150,000 subscribers in the two main cities of Yangon and mandalay. According to the Xinhua news agency, the country had just over 200,000 CDMA subscribers at the end of last year, compared to 375,800 GSM subscribers. more

Myanmar's Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) says that it is planning to increase GSM network capacity by some 80,000 lines in two major cities this year. The mobile phones will be added in Yangon and mandalay for the current fiscal year 2006-07, the Flower News newspaper reported, citing state owned MPT officials. more
