Singapore Operators Share Mobile Video Service

Singapore's two smaller operators - m1 and Starhub have announced plans to share access to m1's mobile video platform, MeTV. Launched by m1 in January 2007 to offer its customers a medium to upload and share their video clips on the mobile platform, MeTV will now be made available by StarHub to its customers in early 3Q-2007. more

Almost One in Five Singapore Connections are 3G

Singapore's three mobile players have recorded fourth quarter net additions figures closer together than ever, with Singtel, m1 and Starhub taking 29.6%, 39.5% and 30.9% of the new customers, respectively, between September and December. Q4 2006 saw MobileOne (m1) - now Singapore's smallest operator - record the highest number of net additions in the market, as a result of reducing overall churn to a low for the year of 1.3% per month. more

Protecting Kids From Adult Content On Phones

Singapore's three mobile operators - m1, SingTel and StarHub - have announced the launch of a voluntary code to self-regulate mobile content in Singapore. The initiative is in response to concerns about minors having easy access to undesirable content on their mobile phones. Jointly developed by the three mobile operators, the code works on the general principle that mobile content should be consistent with material that is available on an unrestricted basis from other mainstream media to the general public. more

Nokia and international sports marketing company IMG/TWI teamed up to develop the Essential Sports Service to deliver sports images, news, updates and audio commentary to sports' fans mobile phones.
