Telefonica Conducts 1st Tests of LTE Network in Spain

Spain's Telefónica has conducted its first tests on a live lte network, installed at its Demonstrations Centre in Madrid. These initial real demonstrations or tests consisted of a VoIP call, and a videocall using an lte mini-network installed by Ericsson; a video conference, and data and images downloads at speeds in excess of 140 Mbps, around 10 times those possible with current 3G networks using HSPA technology.  more

Almost 1.2 Billion SIP Users by 2012

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) services will become the norm after 2010 and will rapidly begin to dominate the world's telecom markets.
