Verizon Wireless Admits Handover Delay on LTE Network
USA based Verizon Wireless has acknowledged that subscribers using its lte network can experience a delay of up to two minutes during the handover from 3G to lte networks if using one of their USB modems. The company said that the delay was expected, and that improvements are currently being planned. more

Qualcomm and Ericsson Demonstrate LTE TDD Mobility at 2.3 GHz in India
A Qualcomm subsidiary in India and Ericsson have successfully demonstrated lte TDD mobility at 2.3 GHz in an outdoor environment. The demonstration live streamed multiple high-definition video feeds to a mobile van in the Gurgaon area, showing a seamless hand off between base stations while maintaining session continuity. The demonstration was carried out by using Radio Access Network (RAN) and Evolved Packet Core (EPC) solutions from Ericsson, and USB dongles based on Qualcomm's MDM9x00 multimode chipset that supports both lte and 3G. more

Altair Semiconductor Powering LTE Modem for Polish Network Operator
Altair Semiconductor has been selected by Polish mobile network operator, Mobyland to power its lte-USB modems operating in the 1800Mhz spectrum band. The solution, an lte-USB modem based on Altair's FourGee-3100/6200 technology, is manufactured by IPWireless, and has already conducted interoperability testing and field testing, allowing for immediate deployment on Mobyland's network. more

It is not economically viable to upgrade current UK mobile broadband networks to address traffic demands and improve user experience until 2015, according to the latest research from Informa Telecoms & Media.
