Alcatel-Lucent Demos LTE Running at 800Mhz in Europe

­Alcatel-Lucent says that it has successfully completed the worldwide first lte data call on the 800 MHz "European Digital Dividend" (EDD) spectrum band in a live network. The call was completed last month at Alcatel-Lucent's lte end-to-end solutions center in Stuttgart, Germany, involved transmitting high-definition video streaming over the air using Alcatel-Lucent's commercial infrastructure platforms and prototype mobile devices.  more

Improving LTE Data Speeds at the Edges of Cells

­The first live field tests of Coordinated Multipoint Transmission (CoMP) a new technology that will increase data transmission rates pn lte networks have been carried out by the Bell Labs. The labs, now part of Alcatel-Lucent carried out the tests in partnership with Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, the Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz Institut, and antenna supplier Kathrein.  more

Wavesat Shows Off LTE Chipset Supporting 100Mbps Download Speeds

Alcatel-Lucent Starts Shipping 700Mhz Based LTE Base Staions

Alcatel-Lucent says that following certification from the U.S. telecoms regulator, the FCC, it is now shipping its 700 MHz lte base stations to service providers in the United States. With this, Alcatel-Lucent has become the first vendor to have FCC-certified lte base stations available, a key requirement for sales in the U.S. market.  more
