According to a new report from Juniper Research, lte enabled netbooks and tablets will be used by as many as 20%, or 1 in 5, lte subscribers by 2015. Juniper found that the many advantages of lte mobile broadband such as high data rates and reduced latency will result in an ideal environment for the proliferation of new and upgraded end user devices such as netbooks, tablets, digital cameras and games consoles to add to laptops and smartphones. more

Telefonica Conducts 1st Tests of LTE Network in Spain
Spain's Telefónica has conducted its first tests on a live lte network, installed at its Demonstrations Centre in Madrid. These initial real demonstrations or tests consisted of a VoIP call, and a videocall using an lte mini-network installed by Ericsson; a video conference, and data and images downloads at speeds in excess of 140 Mbps, around 10 times those possible with current 3G networks using HSPA technology. more

Embedded 3G laptops over-hyped: Will account for just 30% of Mobile Broadband subscribers by 2011
The near-term importance of new embedded-3G and embedded-WiMAX notebooks has been significantly over-estimated, according to a new research report published by Disruptive Analysis.
