First Active Handover Between LTE and CDMA Networks Demonstrated

­LG and Nortel have demonstrated the world's first 3GPP standards compliant active handover of a data transmission between a lte network and a CDMA network. Telenor Selects Huawei for LTE Network Trial in Norway

Huawei has announced that Norway's Telenor has chosen it to provide lte radio access and EPC (Evolved Packet Core) equipment for its lte trial in Oslo. Nokia Siemens Networks says that it has started to provide its customers with Long Term Evolution (lte) compatible Flexi Multimode Base Station hardware. Only a software upgrade is needed to achieve full lte functionality. NEC Wins "Super 3G" Contract in Japan

Japan's NTT DoCoMo has contracted with NEC to provide core network EPC (Evolved Packet Core) systems that support NTT DoCoMoÃ's "Super 3G" next generation mobile phone networks. Super3G is a standard system and an advanced version of the W-CDMA-extended technologies HSDPA and HSUPA, which achieves data transmission speeds of 100Mbps or more in downlink and 50Mbps or more in uplink access.  more
