SingTel Starts Trials of LTE Network

­Singapore's SingTel and Ericsson have shown off their lte trial showcase at SingTel's headquarters, Comcentre. SingTel's mobile broadband network will be upgraded progressively over the next 12 - 24 months to be lte-ready. Commercial deployment is slated to take place in phases, subject to the availability of frequency spectrum and commercial lte mobile devices.  more

ST-Ericsson Achieves LTE to HSPA Handover on Dual-Mode Handset

­Wireless platforms and semiconductor vendor, ST-Ericsson says that it has successfully achieved mobility between Ericsson supplied lte and HSPA networks, using its multimode lte/HSPA device. The interoperability was realized in live networks from Ericsson in Stockholm, Sweden, using a multimode device powered by ST-Ericsson's platform, M710.  more

Ericsson and Samsung cooperate for world's first LTE interoperability

E­ricsson has announced the successful completion of interoperability tests between its live lte network in Stockholm, Sweden and Samsung supplied lte modems. Yesterday, Samsung won a contract to supply those lte modems to TeliaSonera.  more

Telefonica Announces Wide-Spread Trials of LTE Networks

­Telefonica says that it has reached an agreement with six lte technology providers to launch lte test projects in six different countries. The suppliers Telefonica has chosen so far: Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Huawei, NEC, Nokia Siemens Networks and ZTE, will start rolling out the equipment necessary for testing the technology during the coming months.  more
