UK mobile internet market lacking maturity
Survey results published by logica reveals that UK operators are struggling to unlock the loyalty and revenue opportunities from mobile internet. The independent study, commissioned by logica alongside the launch of its new Interaction offering, surveyed 1,000 UK consumers to investigate the incidence of and attitudes towards mobile internet usage. The findings revealed that although 40 percent of consumers heavily use mobile internet, operator failure to target consumers with the right advertising (42%), has deterred half of all consumers from using their phone online. more

Logica chosen as TeliaSonera's outsourcing partner
logica says that it has won a contract with TeliaSonera to provide managed workplace services to 34,000 IT users. The services will include desktop lifecycle management as part of logica's standardized Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM) offering. more

KPN Outsources Business IT Support to Logica
Netherlands based KPN has signed a multi year €22 million (US$28 million) outsourcing deal with logica for its business applications IT service desk support. Through this service, logica will manage questions and issues KPN may face with their IT systems on a daily basis. A total of 40 jobs will be outsourced to logica. more

LogicaCMG picks up three Nigerian contracts

Logica launches MMS interoperability solution
logica said yesterday that it is the first company to deploy a proven MMS intercarrier messaging solution with an unnamed mobile operator. Intercarrier messaging will allow users to send MMS messages across different networks, further enhancing the potential for operators to increase their revenues from MMS. logica is first-to-market to support the MM4 interface, the standard interface through which MMS centres can communicate with each other, with its Picasso MMS Centre. more

Saudi network improves its customer care
logica has won a contract from the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) to establish a customer relationship management (CRM) and multi-channel customer contact centre for STC's mobile phone business. In 2003, the Saudi Telecoms market will become deregulated, creating a more competitive landscape for its mobile operators. In order to help maintain its market position, STC will develop a comprehensive CRM strategy. The logica-developed contact centre will be critical to STC's first phase of its overall CRM initiative. more
