Japanese Consortium to Develop Platform for Symbian and Linux Phones
A collection of Japanese companies have announced an agreement to jointly develop a new application platform for mobile phones that will be compatible with both the Symbian and linux operating systems. Vodafone Revamps Mobile Internet Portal
Vodafone has announced the long-rumoured revamping of its Vodafone Live! mobile internet portal, to include a range of social networking tools under the banner of "Vodafone 360". At its heart Vodafone 360 has an address book that brings together all of the contacts from the mobile phone, social networks and other internet accounts. It works across a range of mobile phones, including the new, exclusive Vodafone 360 phones, and synchs automatically with the PC. more

LG Offers More Details of Flagship Touchscreen Phone
LG has given more details of the LG ARENA (LG-KM900) phone, which was previewed last week. ARENA, LG's new flagship model for 2009 features a totally new 3D user interface, which in some regards reflects how some linux based computers can be configured to work. It is also the first and currently the only multimedia phone for the global market to use Dolby Mobile from Dolby Laboratories. more
