Location based services to cost US$8.5 billion by 2006
According to a new report from The PELORUS Group, Location-Based Services (lbs), as required in the USA for emergency services, will appeal to both user and provider. From the users perspective, lbs offer localized and up-to-date information that is relevant in a particular location at a particular moment. Mark Thompson, one of the study's principal authors, also notes, "From the provider's perspective, location-based applications are enablers of spring-board services, which enhance brand, help differentiate service and increase user loyalty.
