South Korean Operator Offers Lie-Detectors on its 3G Video Calls
South Korea's Korea Telecom Freetel (KTF) has deployed a lie detector in its 3G video calling network - based on a software and hardware platform provided by TI Square and TelcoBridges respectively. KTF's W-CDMA Video Special Call Service provides video messaging, call recording, and voice analysis capabilities that evaluate voice patterns and gauge the sincerity of the caller. Packaged and sold as the "SHOW Love Detector" and the "SHOW Lie Detector," these fee-based video calling services - which are rapidly gaining popularity throughout Korea - enable users to conduct mobile video conferences that feature a "love meter" on the screen of their handset during the conversation. more

Mongolia Telecom Listed for Privatisation by Government
The Mongolian government's State Property Committee has submitted a list of companies that are to be privatised this year -and top of the list is the dominant telco, Mongolia Telecom.
