Malaysian 3G Coverage Expanded

Malaysia's Maxis Communications has expanded its 3G service coverage to Penang. Since the launch of its 3G services on 1 July, Maxis has significantly increased its 3G coverage in the Klang Valley and will soon offer 3G services in Johor Bahru. To date, Maxis has invested US$106 million in the build-out of its 3G network. more

Siemens Wins Malaysian 3G Contract

Malaysia's Maxis Communications has signed a three-year framework partnership with Siemens Communications to deliver its 3G/W-CDMA radio equipment in the Klang Valley and northern region. Aside from full turnkey supply and installation of the Siemens equipment, the contract also covers its maintenance and comprehensive services, and upgrades to HSDPA early next year. more
