MTS India Expands Coverage in Kerala State

India GSM Networks Record Additions in November
India's COAI has reported a subscriber growth of 2.32 million during the month of November'05, which is once again a record high, being 10% higher than the previous month. This is now the highest monthly subscriber additions (2.32 million) recorded by the GSM industry since inception of service. The cumulative All India GSM subscriber base has now grown to 55.31 million in November 2005, up from 52.98 million in October 2005, a growth of 4.4% for the month under review. more

Call quality deteriorates in parts of India
India's cellular network operators are required to submit quarterly Performance Reports of their networks under their service area in the format prescribed by the telecoms regulator (TRAI). The Authority has laid down benchmarks for a number of QoS parameters, so as to monitor the Quality of Service being given by the operators to their customers. In this quarter, 82 number of the mobile service providers have reported their QoS performance. more
