Mobile WiMAX Network Soft-Launched in Tokyo
Japan's UQ Communications has announced that it will launch a Mobile WiMAX network covering Tokyo (all 23 wards), Yokohama, and Kawasaki by the end of this month. The service will be sold under the UQ WiMAX brand name. more

121 Million Mobile Users in Japan by 2011
A new report from the ROA Group says that the number of mobile users in Japan will increase to 121 million by 2011 and the penetration rate in the Japanese market will grow to 95.4% by 2011. more

DoCoMo Disolves WiMAX Joint Venture
In a brief statement this morning, Japan's NTT DoCoMo said that itself, ACCA Wireless and ACCA Networks have dissolved the strategic partnership that they established on August 31, 2007 for the purpose of securing a license to provide broadband wireless services based on mobile WiMAX technology. more
