KazakhTelecom to Sell Mobile Network Subsidiary

Kazakhstan's dominant landline operator, KazakhTelecom has announced plans to sell its 51% stake in its mobile phone network subsidiary, Mobile Telecom-Service. KazakhTelecom has appointed RBS Corporate Finance as its financial adviser, and is seeking outside investors to take the stake.  more

Kazakhstan network passes subscriber milestone

TeliaSonera's subsidiary GSM Kazakhstan with the brand name kcell has passed the milestone of 1 million subscribers in January. During the last year, kcell's customer growth amounted to about 60%. kcell has the largest subscriber base of the four Fintur companies operating in the Eurasian emerging mobile markets. more
