InterDigital Gets Setback in Samsung Lawsuit
interdigital has had a setback in its bid to block the import of Samsung mobile phones into the USA while it argues a legal patent lawsuit against the company. Evidentiary hearing in the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) investigation started yesterday, where the company tried to argue that Samsung has violated laws by engaging in unfair trade practices by selling for importation, importing into the United States, and selling after importation certain 3G handsets and components that infringe five of interdigital's patents. more
Federal Judge Confirms $134 Million Award Against Samsung
interdigital says that an judgment worth US$134 million against Samsung has been upheld by United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The arbitration award was originally rendered in September 2006 by an Arbitral Tribunal operating under the auspices of International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). more
