Alcatel-Lucent Deploys 3G Network in Reunion

Alcatel-Lucent says that it has successfully deployed a 3G network for the mobile operator SRR in the island nation of Réunion. The first phase of this UMTS/HSPA wireless network deployment was made in 2008 mostly in Réunion's Saint-Denis commune and in the island's main towns.  more

Alcatel-Lucent Wins 3-Year GSM Contract in Burundi

Alcatel-Lucent has been awarded a 3-years frame agreement by Africa Cellulaire (Africell) Burundi, a subsidiary of VTEL Holdings, which will start operating under its new "TEMPO" brand, for the delivery of a complete nation-wide GSM/EDGE network. The first phase of the contract is valued at US$20 million.  more
