The Growing Interest In Green IT
Despite a growing awareness that environmental concerns will impact their future IT operations, the vast majority of large companies have yet to build "green IT" requirements into how they buy and use technology, according to a new report by Forrester Research. A survey of 124 IT operations and procurement professionals in North America and Europe found that while 85 percent said environmental factors are important in planning IT operations, only one-quarter said they have written green criteria into their company's purchasing processes. more

Motorola Ranked 4th Among America's Best Corporate Citizens
CRO magazine has named Motorola to its list of the "100 Best Corporate Citizens." The 2007 ranking, released this week, marks the second year in a row that Motorola has earned the fourth spot on the list and the fourth time that Motorola has appeared in the top 10. more

iSuppli Raises 2006 Chip Estimate
After years of coming close to breaking into the top-10 global semiconductor rankings, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Hynix Semiconductor finally hit the big time in 2006, according to a preliminary ranking from iSuppli Corp. In the telecoms world, Qualcomm maintained its ranking while Broadcom managed to jump a couple of places.
