New GSM Network to Launch in Vietnam

Hutchison Telecom has announced that its Vietnamese operation, Vietnamobile will launch its GSM services tomorrow ( 9th April). Vietnamobile, the partnership between Hutchison Telecom and Hanoi Telecom Joint Stock Company, will launch its service over its GSM network with footprint present at 64 provinces in Vietnam.  more

Vietnam CDMA Operator Nears Launch

Hanoi Telecom has fixed the launch date of its Vietnamese CDMA network for the middle of next month, the company has announced. Over the past two years, the company - a joint venture between Hanoi Telecom and Hutchison Telecom Vietnam - has installed some 800 base stations through the country. more

Nortel wins Vietnamese CDMA contract

Hutchison Telecom Vietnam, in cooperation with Hanoi Telecom has selected Nortel to build a nationwide CDMA2000 1X network in Vietnam. Under terms of the contract, Nortel will be the infrastructure supplier for what is expected to be Vietnam's first nationwide wireless broadband network. This network will use CDMA2000 1X and 1xEV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) technology. more
