Acision Wins Voicemail Contracts in UK and Ireland

Acision has announced that, in addition to the recent contract wins with Hutchison 3G (3) in Australia and Austria, it has now been awarded a contract for messaging services for 3's networks in the UK and Ireland. Acision's solution will be deployed to deliver voicemail services.  more

EU calls on mobile operators to continue to improve child safety policies

Half of 10 year-old, 87% of 13 year-old and 95% of 16 year-old children in the EU have a mobile phone, but half of European parents worry mobile phone use might expose their children to sexually and violently explicit images (51%) or bullying by other children (49%), according to a survey. The European Commission has now called on mobile operators to do more to keep children safe while using mobile phones by putting in place all the measures in the voluntary code of conduct, signed by 26 mobile operators in 2007.  more

Arqiva named as principal cell site partner for 3G network integration project

Mobile Broadband Network Limited (MBNL), the network joint venture between T-Mobile UK and Hutchison 3G UK, has selected Arqiva as its strategic partner for the provision of cell sites. Under the terms of the 10-year agreement, Arqiva will provide MBNL with 5,100 sites and Arqiva will have exclusive marketing rights for site sharing services on a further 2,500 sites.  more

Nokia has announced that Hutchison 3G UK (3) is to support its unlimited music download service, Comes With Music from the start of next month. 3 customers who choose Comes With Music when they sign up to an 18-month contract with a Nokia N95 8GB handset will have access to over 4 million tracks, including international and UK artists.  more
