Hutchison Whampoa Considering Sale of Italian 3G Operator
Hutchison 3G Italy is reported to be up for sale to a trade buyer, following a failed attempt to float the company on the Italian stock market a couple of years ago. The London Times newspaper reports that Hutchison Whampoa is understood to have sent out an information memorandum in the hope of unearthing potential bidders for the Italian division. The company has already been looking to sell its towers operation, by merging them with rival operator, Wind and floating the company - which could be worth around US$2.8 billion. more

General Wireless has signed a contract with Hutchison 3G in Scandinavia, to deliver its eMMS solution for integrating PC-based e-mail with mobile text and multimedia messaging. In cooperation with General Wireless, the mobile operator 3 launched the 3PC Message service, enabling mobile multimedia messaging through the Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express e-mail clients. The service is also available using a standalone Windows client software. The software can be downloaded from the 3 website at no cost - users are only charged for sending SMS and MMS messages. more

Most recently, Finnegan was CEO of Sentrio Technologies, a hosted mobile resource solution company, where he was instrumental in building the business internationally. Prior to his time at Sentrio, he served as CEO of Nestle's European home and office water business. Finnegan has also held senior finance roles at Lyons Tetley and Procter and Gamble. more
