T-Mobile USA has added to its 3G device portfolio a HSDPA capable USB Laptop Stick manufactured by huawei, which also offers Wi-Fi connectivity. Accommodating up to 8 GB of installable memory, the webConnect laptop stick also provides portable storage, eliminating the need for an additional USB memory stick.  more

Huawei Wins Egyptian Network Contract

huawei has signed a contract with Egyptian telecom operator, Etisalat Misr, for the expansion of the country's third mobile network in Egypt. Under this contract huawei will provide an end to end solution to build wireless access network, core network and transmission network for Etisalat Misr.  more

Taiwan Expected to Pass 11 Million 3G Subscribers by Year-End

Taiwan is expected to exceed 11 million 3G subscribers by the end of this year, based on faster than expected sales by the local network operators. The China Economic News Service reports that Far EasTone has already signed up 2.2 million 3G subscribers, exceeding its original goal of having two million subscribers by the end of this year.  more

O2 Germany forms partnership with Huawei to expand its networks

O2 Germany has chosen huawei Technologies as one of its partners for the expansion of the O2 mobile network in Germany. The agreement includes both the replacement of existing base stations and the planned construction of more than 8,000 base stations by huawei for GSM and UMTS.  more

Huawei Dploying HSDPA Network in Brazil

huawei has announced that it has deployed a commercial network based on HSDPA for Claro, a subsidiary of Amƒ©rica Mƒ³vil, in Brazil. The HSPA network that huawei is building will be based on a distributed node b solution. Furthermore, the company says that its IP-RAN solution will result in significant savings in its current transmission costs.  more
