Huawei Upgrades Vodafone's Greek Network
Vodafone Greece has announced the launch of a HSPA+ upgrade to its network, offering a theoretical peak download rate of 28.8Mbps and upload rate of up to 5.8Mbps. According to independent trials conducted in active network conditions, the maximum peak download speeds recorded at end-user application level are in the range of 22 Mbps. Typical user speeds will vary based on local network conditions. more

Huawei Opens Upgraded Training Center in Egypt
Earlier this month, huawei inaugurated its new Regional Training Center in Cairo, Egypt. The new facility replaces the previous training center based at Nasr City. The new facility received a boost of US$20 million in new training equipment, allowing the latest technology training programs for WCDMA, GSM, CDMA, NGN, Datacom, Optical Networks, Broadband and Intelligent Networks, among others. With 11 classrooms and laboratories, the facility has increased its capacity, able to accommodate 150 trainees at a time. more

Telefónica O2 Germany has announced that it is starting the live operation of the mobile HSPA+ data network in an urban area of Munich. The network technology and USB Modem are being provided by huawei. more

Telefonica Announces Wide-Spread Trials of LTE Networks
Telefonica says that it has reached an agreement with six LTE technology providers to launch LTE test projects in six different countries. The suppliers Telefonica has chosen so far: Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, huawei, NEC, Nokia Siemens Networks and ZTE, will start rolling out the equipment necessary for testing the technology during the coming months. more

huawei has announced that the company has now shipped over 60 million mobile broadband units worldwide, including data cards, dongles and embedded modules, across more than 133 countries.
