Nokia Siemens Networks Wins 60% of Russian 3G Tender

­Russia's MegaFon has announced the outcome of a 3G network tender, with Nokia Siemens Networks supplying at least 60% of 3G Node -B Base Stations. MegaFon says that it shall decide upon the territory of the equipment supply within Russia at the same time there shall be no exclusivity rights provided to vendors.  more

WCDMA equipment up 21% in 2Q, driven by 3G rollouts and device upgrades

­Ericsson has increased its macrocell RAN equipment revenue in 2Q09 with a boost from China Unicom's W-CDMA deployments, retaining its top market share spot reports Infonetics Research. However, huawei and ZTE also increased their RAN equipment revenue at the same time.  more

Huawei Supplied HSPA+ Upgrade for Japanese Operator goes Live

Japan's EMOBILE has launched a HSPA+ upgrade to its network, offering peak mobile data speeds up to 21.6 Mbps on the downlink. The upgrade covers cities such as Hokkaido, Sendai, Niigata, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and Nagasaki, and was provided by huawei.  more
