HTC Shows Off New QWERTY Smartphone

htc has debuted its newest QWERTY smartphone, the htc Snap - a HSDPA enabled Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard based smartphone. According to the handset vendor, many people find they are overwhelmed by the amount of email they receive. In response to these issues, htc's "Inner Circle" feature allows htc Snap users to press a dedicated Inner Circle key to bring emails from a preselected group of people to the top of their inbox, enabling important messages to be acted upon immediately.  more

The market for Western European converged mobile devices (commonly referred to as smartphones) experienced a good performance in the last quarter of 2008. According to IDC's European Mobile Phone Tracker, vendors shipped 9.3 million units, 25.9% higher than the 7.4 million shipped in 4Q07. Worldwide Smartphone Sales Reached Its Lowest Growth Rate in Q3 '08

In the third quarter of 2008, the global smartphone market reached its weakest year-on-year growth since Gartner began tracking the industry. Worldwide smartphone sales to end-users totalled 36.5 million units in the third quarter of 2008, an 11.5 per cent increase from the same period in 2007.  more

HTC Increases Google Phone Sales Forecasts
