O2 Germany forms partnership with Huawei to expand its networks
O2 Germany has chosen Huawei Technologies as one of its partners for the expansion of the O2 mobile network in Germany. The agreement includes both the replacement of existing base stations and the planned construction of more than 8,000 base stations by Huawei for GSM and UMTS. more

Qualcomm and Huawei in 3G Cooperation
Qualcomm and Huawei say that they have signed a technology transfer agreement for Node B (base station) receiver design that can benefit all UMTS systems, Release 99 and onwards. For example, the agreement covers new technology that can boost the data throughput performance of High Speed Uplink Packet Access (hsupa) networks by up to 60 percent. Technology transferred by Qualcomm under this agreement will enable Huawei to deploy 3G networks in markets using any UMTS-based technologies. more

HSUPA Upgrade Launched in Southern Italy
Huawei has announced the successful commercial launch of High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (hsupa) network services across southern Italy for Telecom Italia. The network, which is billed to be the fastest in Italy, enables uplink speeds of 1.92Mbps and downlink speeds of 7.2Mbps. more
