Zain Launches HSPA Network in Ghana

Zain has announced the launch of commercial services in Ghana with the launch of the first hspa network on the continent outside South Africa. Location-based services (LBS) in Asia-Pacific are expected to see strong growth in the next five years, with wider adoption in the more advanced and saturated mobile and mobile data markets. Peru's Mobile Telephony to Surpass US$2.7 Billion in Revenues by 2013

Peru's Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversiƒ³n) plans to auction off 821 - 824 MHz and 866 - 869 MHZ radio-electric spectrum for Lima and Callao along with 25 MHz on C-band (1.900 MHz) nationwide. Global Mobile Phone Subscribers to Reach 4.5 Billion by 2012

According to MIC (Market Intelligence Center), an ICT industry research institute based in Taipei, global mobile phone subscribers hit 3.1 billion in 2007, thanks mainly to the continuing increase of prepaid subscribers with double SIM cards and corporate clients in the US and European markets.
