Qualcomm Now Sampling Dual-carrier HSPA+ and Multi-Mode 3G/LTE Chipsets

­Qualcomm has announced that it is sampling the industry's first chipsets for dual-carrier hspa+ and multi-mode 3G/LTE. The MDM8220 is the first chipset to support Dual-carrier High-Speed Packet Access Plus (DC-hspa+); and the MDM9200 and the MDM9600 chipsets are the industry's first multi-mode 3G/LTE solutions.  more

Telus Confirms Launch Date for HSPA+ Upgrade

­Canada's Telus has announced that it will launch its hspa+ network upgrade next week - on 5th November, 2009. The network will offer a theoretical peak rate of up to 21 megabits per second.  more

Sierra Wireless Launches HSPA+ USB Modems

Sierra Wireless has launched its first mobile broadband USB modems for hspa+ networks. The new modems nearly triple the speed of other mobile broadband devices, with peak download speeds of 21Mbps. The Sierra Wireless USB 306 and USB 307 modems are expected to ship within the first half of this year.  more

Sierra Wireless' Mobile Modems to Support 21 Mbps Download Speeds

Mobile modem manufacturer, Sierra Wireless says that it is gearing up to start production of hspa+ compatible modems - which will support download speeds of up to 21 Mbps. Australian operator, Telstra is currently rolling out a hspa+ upgrade and aims to launch the service before the end of this year.  more
