Hutchison 3G Austria Starts Upgrade to HSPA+
Hutchison 3G Austria is modernizing its radio access network to be ready for hspa+. Nokia Siemens Networks will undertake this upgrade starting in autumn 2009. Work is expected to be completed in early 2010. As of 2011 the network can be upgraded to LTE. more

Japanese Operator Launches 21Mbps HSPA+ Network Upgrade
Japan's first HSPA Evolution (also known as hspa+) network has been launched in the country's largest metropolitan cities, including Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama and Nagoya, enabling peak data rates of 21Mbps. The deployment is part of a major expansion and upgrade agreement between Ericsson and mobile network operator, Emobile. more

Telecom Italia Launches 28Mbps Mobile Download Service
Telecom Italia has launched what it says is the first city-wide mobile broadband service offering peak speeds of 28 Mbps/s in download and 5.8 Mbps/s in upload. The service has launched in Milan, Italy and will be available in Rome from October. The upgrade was provided by Ericsson. more
