T-Mobile USA Announces Reinvigorated Challenger Strategy
T-Mobile USA's CEO and President Philipp Humm has outlined the company's "challenger strategy" focused on strategic initiatives to get the business back to growth. The most significant investment is a US$4 billion network modernization and 4G evolution effort, which will improve existing voice and data coverage and pave the way for LTE service in 2013. more

Telenor Network Modernization Rolled out to Eastern Hungary
Telenor Hungary has expanded its 42 Mbps download service in towns across the Transdanubian region, as well as in Budapest. Following nearly 800 base stations in Budapest, an additional 415 base stations were swapped and 42 new base stations were installed by Telenor to make hspa+ services available all over western Hungary. more

HSPA Networks to Reach 500 Million Subscribers by End of June
The GSMA today announced that HSPA Mobile Broadband connections are expected to reach 500 million worldwide by the end of this month. Furthermore, LTE has now reached one million connections only a year and a half after the first commercial network launched. more

T-Mobile USA has outlined plans to catch up with its larger rivals and is targeting revenue increase of US$3 billion by 2014 and cost savings of a further US$1 billion by 2013. South Africa's Cell C Outlines HSPA+ Progress
Announcing a new brand identity, South Africa's Cell C has also outlined the progress in its hspa+ network upgrade. Cell C CEO, Lars P Reichelt said the company was making good progress on its network rollout and more than 1300 base stations have already been converted to hspa+ in the 900MHz frequency band. more
