Bulgarian Operator Launches HSPA+ Upgrade
Bulgaria's M-Tel says that it has launched a hspa+ (HSPA Evolution) upgrade to its network, offering peak mobile data download rates of up to 21Mbps. This is the latest step in the M-Tel's UMTS network development, which is in response to the constantly increasing interest and mobile Internet consumption by the company's subscribers. For the last twelve months the operator has registered 300% growth of this service's subscribers. more

Swiss Network Upgrading Data Download Speeds to 28Mbps
Swiss network operator, Swisscom says that it is deploying a hspa+ (HSPA Evolution) upgrade, with the first areas completed in time for the ITU Telecom World 2009 in Geneva. The upgrade will offer a peak rate data transfer rate of 28.8 Mbps - although the more realistic average is no higher than 8Mbps. more

Telecom Italia has launched what it says is the first city-wide mobile broadband service offering peak speeds of 28 Mbps/s in download and 5.8 Mbps/s in upload. The service has launched in Milan, Italy and will be available in Rome from October. The upgrade was provided by Ericsson. more

Singapore's StarHub has announced that it will launch a commercial hspa+ service from tomorrow (16th July) - with devices provided by Huawei. Branded as MaxMobile Elite, StarHub's hspa+ service offers peak download speeds up to 21Mbps nationwide. The upgrade was actually completed in March, and offered to trial users. more
