Roaming made easier for smaller carriers

Performance Technologies has introduced a GSM Roaming Platform which enables large GSM wireless carriers to offer roaming services to small or emerging GSM carriers, who may otherwise not be able to offer extensive roaming coverage to their subscribers. To enable GSM roaming, carriers must assign each of their subscribers an International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) and authenticate each subscriber in a Home Location Register database. Using the MicroLegend GSM Roaming Platform, a large carrier with extensive roaming agreements already in place can assign a range of its own IMSIs to smaller or emerging carriers. By using both IMSIs with the mapping translation provided by the MicroLegend GSM Roaming Platform, these small carriers can provide GSM roaming capabilities comparable to that of the larger carriers. more
