Denmark Asked to Lower Mobile Termination Rates for 3G Operator
The European Commission has written to the Danish telecoms regulator asking it to abolish the difference in mobile termination rates between the incumbent operators and the new 3G entrant, hi3g. The regulator, NITA is proposing to reduce the MTRs from 2010 to 0.43 DKK/min for TDC, Telenor and TeliaSonera, but at a higher rate of 0.51 DKK/min for H3iG. more

The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) has made the decision to approve an application from the operators TeliaSonera, Swefour, Tele2, Telenor and hi3g for frequencies in the 900 MHz band. The present licences in the 900 MHz band will be renewed and it will be possible for the operators to phase in new technology for mobile broadband while at the same time continuing to offer GSM mobile telephony. more

Sweden Proposes Allocating 900Mhz Spectrum to 3G Operator
Sweden's telecoms regulator, the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) has decided to distribute a proposed decision concerning the GSM900 band for consultation. The proposal involves the renewal of existing licences in the 900 MHz band, but also that the entire frequency space available in the 900 MHz band should be allocated, which would enable 3G operator, hi3g to gain access to frequency space in the 900 MHz band. In addition, it would be possible for operators to progress to new technology and supply wireless broadband to a greater extent. more

Sweden Finishes "4G" Spectrum Auction
