Nortel Wins Spanish GSM-R Contract

Nokia Siemens Wins High Speed GSM-R Contract

Nokia Siemens Networks has won a contract to provide, operate and maintain a complete gsm-r network for SpainÃ's rail administration ADIF to cover some 450 kilometers of the newly constructed high-speed tracks linking Madrid with the cities of Valencia and Albacete. Nokia Siemens Networks remains the sole mobile communications supplier for ADIF high-speed lines designed for trains known as AVE.  more

Telent Completes Delivery of GSM-R Phones to Network Rail

GSM Coverage Improved for Winter Olympics

Siemens wins Asian GSM-R contracts

Siemens has received orders from China and India to build mobile networks for railroad communication, hence achieving a breakthrough for the GSM Railway (gsm-r) communication platform on the Asian market. A framework agreement with the Chinese Ministry of Railways envisages long-term strategic cooperation. The first project entails equipping the 470 kilometer high-speed line from Jinan to Qingdao, south of Beijing . GSM-R arriving in China

China's Ministry of Railways and Huawei Technologies have signed a framework agreement on the gsm-r project cooperation of Datong-Qinhuangdao line (Da-Qin line) in Beijing. As a milestone in the revolution of China's railway system, Da-Qin line is poised to be the pilot coaler for modern and heavy-duty transport. The rebuilt Da-Qin line will be the first to roll out modernized trains and communication system, targeting an annual coal transport capability of 200 million tons in the coming years. more

GSM coverage to improve in Italian tunnels

A cooperation agreement has been stipulated between Italy's TIM and RFI, the company responsible for the infrastructure of the railway network, Group Ferrovie dello Stato. The multi-year agreement will enable TIM, by means of the installation of dedicated masts, to optimise the coverage of its own GSM network and allow its customers to use their mobiles in tunnels (where RFI is installing equipment to amplify the radio signal) and over the entire railway network. more
