Orange Launches a GSM Network in Uganda
France Telecom, through its Orange brand has launched a new network in Uganda. Last October, France Telecom took over the national GSM license held by Hits Telecom Uganda after buying a 53% stake in the firm. more

Comium Mobile says that it has been awarded a GSM license in Gambia. With two existing mobile operators, Comium believes that the market is still underserved and that it can bring new and tangible value to the citizens of Gambia, through the provision of cost effective and advanced mobile services. Comium is expecting to go commercial live in the first quarter of next year. more

Comium Mobile says that it has been granted a GSM license in the Ivory Coast. The Ivorian telecoms and mobile GSM markets are set to witness exponential growth into the future. Comium, as one of four license holders in the Ivorian market, is planning the commercial launch of the new network in the 2nd quarter of 2007. more
