Based on Analog Devices' award-winning direct conversion Othello radio architecture, the new Othello-E transceiver integrates virtually all the necessary components, including voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), PLL loop filters and power management, for a complete quad-band EDGE radio design. Additionally, because of its ultra-small packaging, the Othello-E transceiver is among the smallest EDGE transceivers available on the market today. The device can operate in the 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz frequency bands, enabling worldwide coverage. more Related Tags: analog, analog-devices Survey Confirms GSM/EDGE Networks Boost Operators Revenues Users of data services on GSM/EDGE mobile networks are generating increased monthly revenues (ARPU) for operators. New gsa research confirms that ARPU for EDGE-enabled device users is typically 20% higher than for GPRS users, and in some cases reaching 33% and up to 100% higher. The pattern of higher ARPU for EDGE users is consistently higher over a period of several months. more Related Tags: Two new surveys by gsa - the Global mobile Suppliers Association has found that 96 GSM/EDGE networks, triple the number of 12 months ago, are delivering commercial EDGE-enabled services today in 60 countries.
